Privacy
We collect very little. Here's exactly what.
Last updated: 22 September 2026
This notice explains how BEAM There, Done That ("we", "us") handles personal data when you visit our website. We collect as little as we can and never sell your data.
Who we are
BEAM There, Done That Podcast runs this website and controls your personal data. If you have a question about anything in this notice, send it through the contact form and we'll reply.
What we collect and why
-
Server logs
Our hosting provider automatically records your IP address, browser type, the pages you request, and the time of each request. We use these logs to keep the site secure and working. We rely on our legitimate interest in running a secure website, and we delete the logs after 30 days.
-
Analytics
We use PostHog to understand how visitors use the site: which pages and episodes you view, how you arrive, your approximate location (country and city, derived from your IP address), and your device and browser type. PostHog sets a cookie to recognise repeat visits. We use this data only in aggregate, to decide what to publish and how to improve the site, and we keep analytics data for 24 months. If you'd rather not be counted, block cookies for this site in your browser.
-
Emails you send us
If you write to us, we use your name, email address, and message to reply. We rely on our legitimate interest in answering correspondence, and we archive the thread once the conversation ends, unless we need it for an ongoing matter.
-
Embedded players
Episode pages embed video and audio players from YouTube and podcast platforms. These providers can set their own cookies and collect data about you, so we load them only when you click to play. Their own privacy policies govern what they collect.
Who receives your data
We share personal data only with the service providers who run the site for us: our hosting provider, which hosts the site, and PostHog Inc., which provides analytics. Each one acts on our instructions under a data processing agreement. We disclose data to authorities only when the law requires it.
Where your data goes
Our servers are located in Singapore. PostHog stores analytics data in the European Union (Germany). Singapore does not have an EU adequacy decision, so we protect any data we transfer there with the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Cookies
The site itself doesn't set a cookie — analytics and embedded players set their own, and only when they run. Here's each one, what it's for, and how long it lasts:
| Cookie | What it's for | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
PostHog analytics (ph_*)
|
Recognises repeat visits so we can keep aggregate usage metrics. | Up to 24 months. |
| YouTube embed player | Added by youtube-nocookie.com when you play an episode video. | Set by Google — see YouTube's privacy policy. |
Your mailing-list signup doesn't use cookies.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to access your personal data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before you withdrew it. To exercise any of these rights, get in touch through the contact form. We reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the data protection authority in your country. In the EU, that means your national authority (in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali). In the UK, it is the Information Commissioner's Office, in Hong Kong the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, and in Singapore the Personal Data Protection Commission.
Changes
If this notice changes, we will update the date at the top. Significant changes will also be flagged on the site.
